Terrorists Attack Convoy in Zamfara, Resulting in Ten Deaths and Multiple Abductions
In a recent assault in Zamfara State, terrorists targeted a convoy of vehicles on the Magami-Gusau road, resulting in ten fatalities and several injuries.
During the attack on Saturday at Dogon Tsauni around 3:00 p.m., the terrorists set three convoy vehicles ablaze and also abducted numerous passengers.
The wounded, including vigilantes and other passengers, were swiftly transported to the Federal Medical Centre in Gusau for medical attention.
The deceased individuals have been taken to the centre’s mortuary.
A nurse at the hospital expressed distress over the extent of injuries suffered by some of the victims, sharing that they had various injuries, including bullet wounds and bruises.
A local source from Dansadau reported that the vigilante group, which comprised many from their community, was providing security for the vehicles when the ambush occurred.
Tragically, both vigilante members and passengers lost their lives in the attack.
The incident highlights the ongoing security challenges in Zamfara and surrounding North-western states.
